Isn't the difference between U42xxx and U36xxx the fact that one is 36mm long and the other is 42mm long?

You would think so would'nt you. The first batch I ordered under the ref at the front of this thread are exactly the same as the ones just arrived. Both are 42mm long and are the correct ones for the mentioned lights.

Cant explain it but I am happy with the end result. I've just had Exeter airport on the phone asking me to close my car doors as I am causing havoc with the 22.30 flight trying to land!

I must get myself some of these. Do you know I only noticed this morning that my car has puddle lights because the car was wet and reflected a tiny bit of light when they came on. How feeble are the puddle lamps!

is it possible (or has anyone already done it) to retro fit another boot lamp on the opposite side of the boot space?

Is it possible to buy another bulb holder assembly?

I bought these from Devon 4x4, they improve the boot lighting 100%, wired into interior lights!

Any tips how to remove the side mirror puddle light cover? The bulbs is a T-10 size?
