its very easy mate
remove both headlights 10 mins then remove covers to access bulbs
remove standard h7 dipped beam bulb replace with new xenon h7
the kits come with a wiring harness which plugs straight into existing wires
drill one hole in plastic cover which you have removed to install the new wiring harness
refit headlights plug in xenon ballast pack then check opperation
if all is well mount the 2 xenon ballast packs somewhere behind the headlights either with screws or double sided tape.
close bonnet and enjoy
the kits on ebay range between £75--£100 including p+p
the kit i bought was 6000k which has a slight blue colour 2007 fl2 narvik black ,chrome mirrors,side steps,tinted windows,20" kahn wheels,6000k xenon conversion,black leather,garmin nuvi satnav,silver vision indicator bulbs,clear side repeaters.

Interesting...... Never thought they was convertion kits available, could you answer a few questions?

Will the light level adjustment still work when you convert these, as i use this alot when towing so i don't blind people aswell as slow them down Laughing

Do they alter the full (high) beam aswell?

Also when these go in how do you align the beams, so your headlights are not boz eyed? and pointing to the correct position?

finally will they still be able to be switched over if i take it to France, I've not done it but the manual says there is a lever that switches them over instead of sticking those lenses on.

Did you buy yours on eBay (eBay Shop??), or could you point me in the direction of a online shop?

Cheers

I have to admit i have thought about the diference in heat generated by the xenon convertion

If they are 300% brighter, does it mean more light = more heat? Discuss Idea Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I guess that each conversion kit has its own specs, but I would be very careful when upgrading. What I can tell you for sure, is that LR does not allow LR dealers to do an upgrade from halogen lamps to HID or AFS and the reason is that you need sensors around the car which are used for the auto leveling plus various special cables and computers which coordinate the whole system. Thumbs Up Having said that, I'm pretty sure that any other available system on the market which does not include all those components is not as reliable or sophisticated. I beleive that chances are that you would blind many opposite comming drivers. Shocked I have seen some JEEP's here that have sth that looks like XENON lights (but just regarding to the white light they emit) but the rest of the headlight is like a simple halogen unit: whole result is awful! Confused My dealer also told me that the FL2 HID is a very high tech system regarding to the bulb used and the light emitted. Bow down

Brian,
I hope you travel in a westerly direction when going to work and not easterly. I better keep some sunglasses in the vehicle when i'm out from now on... Shocked Out with the old (2007 SE)
In with the new (2012 Dynamic with everything). Now also gone.

I found a dutch company that sells Xenon lights with automatic height leveling:

http://www.pilotxenon.com/index3.html

Seems interesting but I do not have any further information. (at present they have 1 dealer in Belgium)

for npinks, and others of course.

On page 73 of my handbook it shows how to change the dip for use on the continent - but that only applies to the Xenon lamps. Reading your posts I assume you are like me and have the Halogen lamps. These do NOT have the lever in the picture.

I recently spent 5 weeks fully loaded and towing a caravan around France with only a very small amount of black tape on the lens.

No problems with the French flashing me. If you look at the Land Rover beams on a wall there is very little of the usual upwards triangle of light to cover up. I suspect that I might not really needed the tape at all.

Previous vehicles I have owned, have had a much larger upward triangle to mask.

the light level system will still be exactly the same as all you are effectively doing is replacing a bulb
they do not alter full beam although if you wanted you could purchase another kit to do this but i would not recommend it because xenon lights takes about 10 seconds to reach maximum output and this would not be ideal if you were trying to flash another vehicle (with your lights lol)
i bought my kit off ebay for £80 including p+p 2007 fl2 narvik black ,chrome mirrors,side steps,tinted windows,20" kahn wheels,6000k xenon conversion,black leather,garmin nuvi satnav,silver vision indicator bulbs,clear side repeaters.
