Apple have an ongoing problem with calls not connecting correctly, the problem you are experiencing is very similiar, the person you have called, answers and can hear you, however, you are not aware of this as the phone didn't ring out.
It happens on mine regularly, although strangely, if I tap the speakerphone icon on/off it connects correctly each and every time, someone told me of this workaround and it does work. About time Apple sorted this issue.

Which speakerphone icon do you mean?

When making a call you have a screen display with either the numerical buttons or six options, mute etc, one of the options is speaker, pressing this seemed to work.

However.....upgrading to iOS 5.1 has completely cured mine and it no longer had any problems connecting. Thumbs Up

That may work but the point to me of a hands-free setup is to leave the phone in my pocket.

I still have this 'no dialling heard' with the latest IOS version.

Try and see if Apple will swap it, or is it on a contract with accidental damage Insurance Whistle

Mine keeps dropping out, and it doesn't depend on signal stength which I originally thought.
One thing that annoys me is the inability to have music played through bluetooth.
I've got a Disco4 HSE on loan at the moment (Fugly but fun) , and that plays music through BT, why won't the FL2? Indus Silver

are you guy's having a problem with your calls while your iphone is connected to play music via a aux cable? as this plugs into the headset point it effectively mutes the phone, try using one of the 12v socket adaptors, the ones with the aux cable and the fast forward buttons etc on them it may cure the problem this works with after market radios with aux sockets and may work with the LR unit.
just a thought.

We had a discussion at the meet yesterday that will answer this.
The LR range of vehicles, seemingly use a BCM, body control module, that is generic across the range, apart from the Freelander, this has a unique, rather limited BCM, in comparision.

There is talk of a major FL2 revision in the pipeline, more interior than exterior, this would also tie in with possibly moving over to latest BCM, giving the Freelander a jump in technology and possibly some of the interior conveniences and features of the Evoque.

Hi

sorry to throw a little spanner in the works but I get the same problem with my BB9900 ?

Sometimes you can hear the ringing but most times it just cuts the radio off then silence till you get an aswer?

Not sorted the reason why yet.

I also get the same problem with my HSE.....no ring tone on voice control initiated outgoing calls. The iPhone itself (3GS with latest IOS 5.1.1) shows the 3 options mentioned before. At this point you can hear it ring out if you hold the phone to your ear as in a normal call. If I switch it to iPhone speaker and then back to Landrover it comes through the vehicle speakers. Defeats the object of voice control though really.

I've checked all the settings in my iPhone I can find and nothing seems to fix it. Also did a check on the LR website but although it confirms bluetooth compatibility the detail feature list doesn't mention voice control......unless I missed it. Confused

Hopefully a later IOS level will fix it. Smile
