Paul, yes it makes a difference if you use motor oils appoved for engines with DPF if you DO NOT have a DPF.

0W30 is more liquid than 5W30 when it's cold. This makes starting at low temperatures easier. At a normal operating temperature, the liquidity is the same.

and
2) is there any reason why you shouldn't use the ESP oil if you don't have a DPF ?

I just bought Mobil 1 ESP 5W30.
According to the specs it meets ACEA A5/B5 as well.
