I think the AUS have their own approval rating on tow bars, and when off roading with a off road trailer they need something more substantial

Are the backs still only held on by two screws? I ripped one off in deep sand so replaced the screws with small stainless bolts as the flaps themselves are quite flexible.

You'd think if it is drive train related it would not be related to the speed of the vehicle. Maybe the brake discs are not balanced? Anyway let us know what the dealer says when they solve it.
