The original question was asking how to go about releasing the key lock that is jammed with muck.
My advice was heat and penetration oil.

Try putting some heat on it from a gas torch.
Plus gas/penetrating oil is better than WD-40.

I think the C1 oil is low ash content for engines with DPF?
My Evoke uses the more expensive C1 and has a DPF where as my Freelander uses the B spec cheaper oil and has no DPF.
