Not really the answer to your question but you could temporarily remove the fuse in the passenger footwell to disable them, however it is shared with the radio.

Problem solved (sort of).
not a special edition or fancy option but a fault with the radio, removed the fuse for the radio (f6 in the passenger footwell) and the glow has gone.

Inquired at a couple of normal garages and they were both about £800.
The parts themselves aren't too expensive, about £200 if you source them yourself.

I went for just a cheap top hose, Seemed good quality and has done the job just fine.
