Just checked the ones I took off. No sign of any valve.

All 4 of my plugs were open circuit. No messages ever. Started OK if a little slower when cold.

Have you ordered the metal pipes? I don' think that anyone has managed to split them from the hose to the pump yet. I know I couldn't.

Pretty sure it is the towing eye. From what I remember of mine it is welded on. Wire brushed and Hammerited mine with Silver. Pretty good match.

I do it from the top every time now. Done it 10 times. 3 from below 7 from above.

All modern cars are negative earth.

I do not like the look of that positive lead just laying on the terminal - you could have a poor connection. Try digging both meter leads into the terminals.
