As above , KYB,Bilstein or Sachs , avoid the cheap stuff and Britpart .

This may be obvious but have you actually opened the roof for inspection? My leak was caused by a loose rubber seal which was easily re-glued.
I've had this problem on two Fl2's .

None of our Fl2's are particularly heavy on the brakes at all given the weight of the car .

Probably a good idea to change the springs while everything is in bits , avoid any cheap springs and go for a good quality pair over price .
