I had the exact same problem and it was the throttle body gears worn down ,changed the throttle body and have had not further problems in 6000 miles.
Give it a go cheaper than a turbo or egr. |

New battery a year ago,so dismissed that managed to at a good price on a replacement starter,and was having the manifold changed to a swirless one,so had them changed together.

Hi,i had something very similar and it was the throttle body ,so had it changed and now all good.also I cleaned the map and maf sensors.
