The odd mix of tyres (some Chinese) would suggest it's been run on a budget, so hopefully the service schedule has been kept up to date. To me it seems expensive for a 9 year old vehicle, but they are holding the money at the moment. For comparison, in 2020 paid £2000 for my 2009 MY SE as a bad runner, and sank another £1000 into it to bring it up to scratch, for which I replaced a piston, a replacement low miles cylinder head, rebuild rear diff, new brakes and shocks all round. Fingers crossed, it's working as it should now, and hopefully remains that way for a good while yet. It all depends on how much cash you want to sink into a depreciating asset, especially as fuel prices are on the rise, and electric cars are getting cheaper all the time. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate on order. Gone. 2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE. |

yeah - the assortment of oriental liquorice-based tyres was particularly unedifying but I'd budgeted for having to put full set of something decent on there anyway, so no real issue going forward; bit odd though as the spare is a pristine wrangler - wondering if another four of the same didn't disappear when this one was consigned to the temporary care of the dealer !

If its got halogen headlights, which I assume as GS of that age will have you'd be best taking the bulbs out, throwing them away and replace with a couple of candles! Seriously though they are poor and bulbs blow regularly. The best upgrade I have made is an hid kit from auto bulbs direct. Best £70 you will spend on it. Others have tried a variety of led bulbs with varying success.

A single bulb (HB3 9005) does both High & Low beam on a 2014. I'll be fitting 2 new ones tomorrow, will see how they last. 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 Manual Dynamic

I bought 2 Osram/Sylvania HB3's yesterday for £15.63 (exact same bulb as are in currently (1 blown now) at least 2 years old - were in when I bought vehicle in Feb 2020) I'll see how they last 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 Manual Dynamic

As above, a single hb3 halogen is all you get for main and dip beam on each side, a shutter lifts when you select high beam so it's only 1 set of hids you need. I presume the single HB3 replaced separate main & dip bulbs when the lights changed with the facelift? Is that when the "signature" DRLs came in?
