Apparently the timing belt had slipped off the teeth on the pulley which is basically the same as snapping....
I'm still struggling in my head about what I'm going to do with the car ... |

Had my FL2 taken to a LR specialist garage to do a diagnostic check on it  |

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.
The car is going to a LR specialist garage today and they will do a diagnostic check on it to see what that throws up although I'm not holding out much hope tha ... |

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
Forgot to say the cambelt had been changed at 77000 miles by a LR garage so I can't see that happening but you never know I suppose.....

I too have this very noise but alas I'm not sure where it originates from so I do hope someone on here will have an answer.
My noise is only when I apply the brakes too! |

Drivers side engine mount. Mine looked OK until I compared it to the replacement once I had got it off.

Have you checked in and around the car and engine for something loose.
does it vary with engine speed, or road speed, or acceleration, or braking, or is it random (for example blowing in the wind) ... |
