Wouldnt work "on every car etc" I doubt its much good on fibreglass or plastics? and only on steel if its a nice smooth dent on a flat panel and not on a corner and not on a swage line. I was only wrong once and thats when I thought I was but wasnt.

Don`t dismiss all these dent repair people out of hand. I have a motorbike with an unpainted aluminium tank that had seen its fair share of track action - and some track contact! It had dents, creases and gouges. I sent it for assessment to a guy near York who specialises in ally tanks and paint free dent repairs, he said that he thought he could do a good job on it, and I am absolutely astounded by the result. Aluminium that is polished to a near mirror finish must be the hardest job possible because any imperfection is obvious but I would say that the tank is now 99%. He is a craftsman, most certainly - just pick who you let loose on your metalwork, carefully. Don`t drive faster than your angel can fly! |

nicam I absolutely agree. Once when I went off on holiday, the young lady I lived with at the time was in my garage/barn and knocked over my Slik700s. The result was a deep crease on the corner of the tank which was black with hand painted twin gold coach lines. In my absence and to make good her misdemeanour she contacted Silk Engineering and they put her in contact with the chap who hand-built all their aluminium tanks based on the outskirts of Nottingham. Upon my return I knew nothing of the repair until much later having a drink with Clive of Silk Engineering who spilt the beans so to speak. There are some highly skilled craftsmen out there - you just have to find them - but they don't live on the shelves of Halfords or any other motorists discount centre. |
