I used to look after a property that suffered from them, show a prospective tenant around and we opened the velux window, and I swear a 100 of them swarmed the room, I shat myself and the Tennant just stood there, as she was used to flies after living in Africa or somewhere

It was her who told me about cluster flies and actually rented and then bought it a year or two later, never got rid of the either Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Buy some big spiders, they should sort it for you failing that plant a myrtle bush.

The little summer midges are 'thrips' they live on grasses and cereals such as wheat.
The small beetles that love yellow are pollen beetles they live on oilseed rape plants and devour the flower buds as they grow, I murdered a few million of them last weekend by using a carefully applied dose of insecticide.


I had a small amount of insecticide left so Mrs G is saving it for making special vanner scones At work

Errrrr ... going to show complete lack of knowledge, a fly is a fly to me . How can I tell the difference, and would it be a different approach to getting rid of them??
