Recovery Hoops

I meant to reply to a post some time ago about using tow bar or hoops for recovery, now cannot find it so here goes. If just towing some broken down motor at less than 2.5 tonnes (sorry the legal towing weight of F/L2 c2 tonne) then the tow bar is the best option. If you are recovering/being recovered from the clag then the centre frt hoop (do not forget to remove the removable panel out. Dirty knees and 2 quarter turn fixings) or the off centre rr hoop are the best options. Both are rated at more than 2.5 times vehicle weight at 30 degrees to centre line.
Cannot comment on how this equates to someone driving off like a scalded cat with a kinetic rope (cannot be bothered to work it out) but if you are that stuck I would suggest getting the shovels out and a more controlled pull. still pining for my 3dr, no removeable hardtop, no drop glass tailgate, no roof rack, no pockets everywhere to stow all that man kit
