2009 LR2 TD4 XS Auto Stornoway Grey
255-60-R18

Is anybody succesfully running 255 x 60 x 18 on original 18" rims without fitting spacers ?

Forget the spacers for a minute.
You can't have a '60' section with a '255' width, the tyre rolling circumference would go from 2255mm to 2328mm, it would throw the gearing, speedo, sensors etc out completely.

If you want more width then you must reduce section.

Yesterday I received the formal authorization, from Land Rover, to fit the tire 255-60-18?!?!
Are the fitting spacer needed ??

what does this tyre provide , is it extra grip in mud/snow or whatever or is it a more cost effective option ?

I have been running 255/60/18 AT2's for 18 months now with no issues. Freelander 2 XS 2.2 TD4 Met Black, with Winter pack, 18" alloys with General Grabber AT2 wellies, MANTEC Sump and Tank Guards

Edsnow did you use the original rims with or without spacers? and tell me something about the space between the tire and the rear suspension. Now I have 13-16 mm with 235/60, if I install 255/60 become 3-6 mm? it's true?

Edsnow Lele I'm surprised at the amount of space you have, the gap between the the tyre wall and strut on my rears is down to around 8-9mm at its narrowest point with the standard 235-60-18's fitted!

Had 10 to 12 mm clearance when on standard 235's. Now have about 8mm clearance. I will take photos tomorrow and post in the next 48 hours. No spacers used.
