DOG FRIENDLY ? WARNING !

As well as owning a beautiful Tambora Flame FL2 I also own a beautiful yellow labrador 'Archie'. However when I got my new FL2 home and introduced Archie to his new mode of transport Razz he and I dicovered that he could'nt jump in Thud Big Cry like he was always able to do with previous FL. Question So the moral of this story is - check the FL2 height specifications. The new design has incorporated the spare wheel inside and removed it from the back, Embarassed therefore the height has been increased. Since I have bought 'Archie' a ramp to enable easy access, it also stops any scratching on the bumper. Thumbs Up So now we are all happy again. Very Happy

RE: DOG FRIENDLY ? WARNING !

I have a gold lab too and sometimes look after a black lab for a mate - my dog is just coping with the jump up but the other dog is not.

I have the GS with black cloth and the seats seem to be magnetic as far as the dog hair is concerned - it is terrible Sad

I have a "Dog Bag" to carry him in and keep car clean - sort of a tent with zip open flap that covers bumper to stop scratches - but still get hair on seats Big Cry

My new terrier x is called archie too!! good name Very Happy

He gets buckled into the rear seats just now and is quite happy with it although I need to agree with the cloth seats= dog hair magnet Evil or Very Mad

Muddy, is that the dog-bag thing from roofbox.com http://www.roofbox.co.uk/rbarintr.html? I've been thinking about one of these as they look pretty handy, any opinions would be appreciated.

Hi, joe1978

It is the roofbox one.

I got one for me and one for a mate about 2 years ago. Keeps the car clean and protects the bumper so very pleased - folds into a rucksack when not needed or flat in boot. We also added the mud and snow liner to remove and wash. Thumbs Up

We got a discount by buying ex-display and it was in box/unmarked so worth doing Smile

Poidy - where did you get the ramp ?

I've got a 55kg hovawart - a bit heavy to keep lifting in & out Big Cry

Currently he climbs in through the rear passenger door - and walks into the boot while the rear seat is folded down flat. Then the rear seat is folded back up - so he's "locked" in the boot. This method just takes a few seconds - and it's really easy for him to get in & out of the car Thumbs Up

That reminds me of a Greek shepherd dog I used to have. I had a Suzuki Jimny then and Argos - that was his name - got really mad with strangers approaching and the car got really full of scratches. It was a mess! Maybe Archie didn't get in due to respect to the beautiful unscratched Freelander 2, Poidy. Thumbs Up
BTW Argos was a ancient Greek king, the king of a place called Argos (in Peloponissos), and also the name of Odysseas' loyal dog in Odyssey - no it's not the name of a shop Censored .
