'Beep Beep'

now and again while driving i hear a 'beep beep' sound, has anyone got an idea what it could be? Confused Confused

Think it's 4 degrees, but agree that's what it is. Don't put petrol in a diesel. They don't run well.

I've had the chimes at funny times other than 4 degrees. If I cant see what it is immediately, I just ignore them.

Mine beeps at 4 degrees, 0 degrees and -5 degrees Celsius if the drop in temperature is progresive, without turning off the engine - for example when you climb a mountain and the temperature drops progresivelly from over 5 degrees down to -10 degrees for example.
Otherwise it always beeps when you turn on the car and the temperature is below 4 degrees.

4 degrees I understand. At that temperature the water has it's maximum density and below that it starts to expand and become less dense. Warning for the start of expanding process when you have pure water in cooling circuit.

0 degrees is the temperature of changing state. Warning for possibility of icy roads and big problem for the cooling system when combined with the above situation - pure water in cooling system.

But -5 degrees??? Some last warning that you'll soon be fu**ed if you don't take measures??? Laughing Laughing Laughing

Also a double beep always accompanies a (any) serious warning in the message center.

Never had an "Ice" warning audible alarm.

Quiet pleased too, as it is almost always icy conditions/temps here in the mountains in Switzerland in winter. Maybe LR CH in their pre delivery checks programme that feature out of our vehicles?
