Cheers AndyC

Tangiers orange is a fairly exclusive colour - only 7

Doesn't show mud too bad, but looks dirty very quickly with road salt.

When we bought ours it was 12 months old (900 miles) and discounted by £16k, sold at less than cost just to shift it off the books according to the dealer. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

I dont believe that there is a 'good' or 'bad' colour to have, it all comes down to personal taste. I personally dont like black because I think it takes too much time to keep clean, the beige one looks like old mans trousers and green is too farmyard for me. I was stuck between silver and red with my current FL2 but opted for Red as I wanted to be different (not too many reds on the road) and coz I also wanted to annoy CG.

My next FL2 is going to be Bali Blue coz there isnt many of them around and it is a striking colour. When you look at the current LR colour card there really isnt much of a selection as most of thte blues, greens etc are almost black anyway!

Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Mr. Green

Excellent choice. I remember when I was buying mine, I knew I wanted blue before even looking in a brochure and the garage told me that some blue had been stopped a new blue was coming called 'Bali Blue' so I was buying blind. So happy with it, its just like cadbury's purple.

I have only ever seen 1 other bali blue on the road. Bit of an exclusive club Smile

England 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Stornoway Grey

Really boring but Stornaway does not need washing so often! Seems that road muck meets that shade of gray nicely. Probably why it is so popular. I love the green, but happened to see one the other day with the winter muck all over it and it showed badly so regular washing needed.

On the other hand be brave and go bold! You only live once. Razz

United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Rimini Red

Can only agree with previous post.

Stornoway really doesn't show the dirt.
Rimini Red - like the G4 shows the road salt quite readily.

One word of warning - silver FL2 moved through dealers can often be ex Land Rover Experience cars - buyer be aware!!

Buy what colour YOU like - its your car and it needs to put a smile on your face every day! No body wants to walk towards something they have to keep for years wishing they had gone for something else... take my word for it - My wife talked me into buying a kiwi metallic green scenic - it only lasted 12 months then it had to go (and i like green cars - i've had 4)

Good luck - given that winter has still lots to throw at us don't wait too long!! There's always a way forward!

2008 Freelander Td4 GS - Stornoway Grey - Now Gone - Sob
2011 Freelander Td4 GS 150 - Rimini Red - in its place - Better x far x 4!!

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Rimini Red

Hi, thanks for all the replies, glad to have opened the can. My current FR2 is Baltic Blue, not my choice, just what the dealer had available at a good price. My next FR2's colour will be decided in the same way, but it will not be black! Given a choice it will be something that does not show the dirt too much so Stornaway Grey might do but I do like Rimini Red. AndyC, yes its imperfect as to lack of colour choice, its the LR site, what do you expect! Thanks all.... Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.
Gone - A great 57 Plate, Auto SE, Bought Feb 2009, Roof Rails and Mudflaps added on purchase. Blue colour, anything but drug dealer black.....

Not quiet exactly spot on in my case but the sentiment is correct. I follow my Father's advice: love'em all but marry none.

Clearly Ipanema Sand is far too subtle a colour for the bolder brasher types - certainly not 'beige' nor really 'sand' either. Hints of olive, silver and gold - works for me!

I think it's brilliant and quite exclusive amongst the boring greys and (mostly) dirty blacks.

Each to their own. Freelander 2 SD4 HSE - Ipanema Sand - MD co-pilot - Springer Spaniel in boot - Swift Challenger on the back!

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Rimini Red

Apologies for retrieving this thread. A dealer told me that red and green were hard to shift, hence their demos were always black, grey or silver and colour choice impacted on resale values (this was in response to me saying I had seen a seemingly cheap Rimini Red elsewhere) I bought the Rimini Red today and think I did a good deal. I do think it will look dirty quickly cf a grey and I don't wash my cars that often but Lago was a bit dark.........Anyway very pleased to change my colour from blue to red, Liverpool rather than Everton, and you can guess my politics..............
