Good and bad colours for the FR2.....

Sorry if this has been raised before, I tried several search options....
I wondered if there were stats as to most chosen colours (presume silver) and least. Presumably this feeds through to residual values. Are there any actual dogs to avoid? (apart from Black of course, no offence CG but in London the dealers who cannot afford RRS end up with blinged FR2's) Anyone with anecdotal experience from dealers about unpopular colours?
Cheers all

Gone - A great 57 Plate, Auto SE, Bought Feb 2009, Roof Rails and Mudflaps added on purchase. Blue colour, anything but drug dealer black.....

If you do a check of used FL2's on the Land rover site, you can see what colour is popular. sorry to say it's black. did toy with the idea of getting a cherished number for a laugh that I saw for sale at 5k, DRU66Y. Great apart from i'd have got pulled every 100 yards.

[open worm can ] what a question to give the forum Laughing [ close worm can ]

I would say black is high on the list with greys and silvers following or just in front

Reds and blues next, and for some reason green is not a massively chosen colour, even though it suits the FL2 very well

Other not so chosen colours are the ipanmema sand or other not so main stream colours

I chose white (currently popular choice) as fully coded lower trims suit it very well and it just so happened to be a good deal from our sponsors Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I suppose on your travels you tend to see quite a few Blacks and as many Stornoways, but most of the Blacks seem to be ex Dem cars as they do look nice for five minutes after they have been washed. Rare ones seem to be Tonga Greens a few Riminis.

Quick survey of Approved S/H vehicle colours (Edit on3/1/11)

Obvious thing to do, but not to me!
Of the 603 on sale
293 are Silver or Grey (not possible to split)
151 are Black
102 Blue
41 Red
36 Green
14 White
6 Sand/Beige!
1 Tambora Flame

So either Silver or Black on top I guess.

A sample and I don't know if it will be representative but worth a try...

I absolutely love the 'tangerine' color! My vehicle just blends in with the crowd.

julytourist: Your list is a bit too simple as there are/have been various Grey Black, Blue, Green and even White colours and each has its own particular "I like it/I hate it" impression when you see them in the flesh.

The list may indicate popularity or it may also indicate the opposite – that is “I bought this colour, but now I don’t like it so I traded it”

I would imagine though, since introduction, the most sold (totally) FL2 colours would be Stornoway Grey and Santorini Black closely followed by Zermatt Silver.

The best colour without a doubt which suits a FL2 (and when seen in the flesh) is Galway Green, followed closely by Stornoway Grey, which would be hotly disputed by at least Black owners who unfortunately can’t conceive what colours are Laughing . Unfortunately the greens are not so popular and probably not easy to resell. 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc.

2007 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Zermatt Silver

When I got mine there was a 'gold' coloured one for sale also, which was a higher spec but the colour put me off. Think it was the Tambora Flame, was heavily discounted in price. Haven't seen another like it. 2007 TD4 S Zermat Silver, maual, panoramic sunroof, rear headrest entertainment system, towbar for trailer.
