Side Steps - The right ones and How much to fit?

Hi Guys,
I'm looking at getting/fitting side steps for my FL2.

I've seen some advertised on eBay as OEM but am always worried about fakes etc as anyone can make up a title Smile. Can anyone recommend a seller on ebay who is selling genuine ones? And/Or has anyone negotiated with a dealer on a price that is similar?

Also, if you turned up with a set at your local dealer how much would they charge to fit them (assuming they would)?

Many thanks (as always) for your hep Smile

beware of reduced ground clearance - I 'dropped' off a large boulder (though it was grass) and clobbered the front side step mount - ended up ripping the captive nut out and bending the inner sill ! I now have one side step .... I actually blame the garage that fitted them actualy 'cos the mounts were extremely loose when I inspected the damage. To fit them you have to cut the plastic sill moulding. The mouldings are arked with where to cut but, beware damaging the plastic clips - they're a sod to replace without the right tool. 2008 Freelander2 GS TD4
New steering pump and rack fitted 10000 miles (warranty)
Driver's seat started 'dropping' 30000 miles
Rear parking sensors giving continuous tone when raining heavy 35000 miles
Rear parking brake siezed 40000 ... new rear disks and pads (warranty)
Clutch slipping 54,000 ... new clutch ... £800 ! ... (not warranty)
Rear diff bearings replaced at 60,000 and 85,000 (warranty)
New DMF and clutch, rear diff (uprated nose bearing), front and rear disks at 115,000

Thanks Dave Smile
I think i'll ask the stealer for a fitting price and put the onus on them to fit them properly...but at what cost??? Sad

Are you saying the ones listed above your post are NOT genuine despite being listed as OEM?
Thanks

The ones in my post above are about half price, I doubt if you will get original LR steps cheaper anywhere . They are about £500 elsewhere

be aware that the steps can hold a lot of mud and dirty your trousers as you get in/out. Not anti steps per se, I quite like them but chose tubes instead. At work

Thanks CG, I am still trying to make my mind up on whether to get them or not. Any off road I am likely to do is the odd farmers field to go fishing or the odd track to do some filming.

Cheers
