Hmm...
The review on What Car? website isn't quite as favourable as it's Haymarket sister-brand (wonder what Pistonheads will make of it Laughing )- although does well to highlight the "limitations" of the faux-by-four vehicle genre...

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Stornoway Grey

A friend of mine is a journalist for a pretty well known publication (He has asked me not to mention which one), he has just been on a day trip with all the latest mid sized SUV's, both four wheel drive and two wheel drive.

On the rough stuff, the 2WD Freelander 2 out performed many of the other 4x4 SUV's!!!!!! The journalists that were there found it very amusing that a 2wd Land Rover could go further off road than a 4x4 X trail, Q5 and HR-V. They have said that by adding a 2WD version to the range, has not de-valued the Freelander 2, but will make the other 4x4 manufacturers sit up and take notice. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........
