Hi!

I am thinking of tweaking my centre console on the dash. Does anyone know how to remove the vents at the front? They are plastic and I've been known to be a bit heavy handed with things in the past...

They'll come out together with the entire centre console, the upper part.
You'll need to take off the centre top cover, the one with the supposed speaker. It is clips fixed. Insert a flat screwdriver around it and lift it carefully, starting from the windshield side.
Then you will find several screws there which will free the top part of the console.
The rest of it is clips fixed.

Yeah, I have a 56 GS and am not that enamoured with the stereo and would like to upgrade to an aftermarket one. I would also like to tweak the sat nav enclosure and fit the stereo in there. Hence why I would like to find out how I take the vents (the slidey bits that change the direction of the air) out without manhandling them to destruction. Thoughts?
