Yes, thanks for asking. After 6 weeks how fantastic it is to be mobile again! I took the opportunity to upgrade to an SE from my XS, and personally I think it was worth it: sunroof's nice, heated windscreen will come into its own in winter, rear armrest means that the kids can reach their own drinks, and I'm really happy with the satnav, preferrring it to my TomTom although it's not as intuitive as it could be and it's a shame there's no 3D view like TomTom. I'm not really that interested in the extras on the HSE, so for me I've now got everything I want

I've not checked the build date on the car, as coming from dealer stock it could actually be quite an early build. I'd like to think that all the software updates will have been done as part of the PDI, and certainly the volume of the reversing sensors is better than my XS was prior to being updated. However, I do seem to have the "single wipe on starting" problem with the wipers, though that could just be down to dampness on the windscreen first thing in the morning.

I'll give it a couple of weeks before I book it into the dealers to get some roof bars fitted, and then I'll also be asking them to look at a couple of things, like one missing 12v outlet cover, the wonky start button, a chip out of one of the front fog light bezels, and the only major thing, which is that when they've put the front lamp guards on, one of them slopes up the best part of 1cm. As they're fitted to holes drilled in the wing, which they've clearly mis-measured, I'm intrigued to seeing how they're going to sort this...

It's still going to be another 2 or 3 weeks before I hit the 1000 mile run-in period and things start to loosen up, but it doesn't matter cos I'm just glad to have my FL2 back!

Yeh sorry to steal the thunder NightFox, you must be just as excited as me and add the that you were gaining all the goodies too Glad you are impressed.

I would imagine thats a 'new' build as I would not think many 'early' cars are left as they would be about 10-11 months old by now, and the SE spec is I would imagine very popular.

On my first HSE I only had one 12v socket cover, dealer aquired the second one from a loan car. The new motor has both from day one.

To avoid that first single wipe I have not bothered turning the wipers to auto, so I do not know if mine will do it with a dry screen. I will just turn them onto auto when it rains for the first time and see what happens after that.

Maybe the lobsided lamp guard was to compensate for the lob sided start/ stop button

By the way I nipped into garage tonight to do the tyre pressures, front were at 35 rear at 36!!!! so shot down my eyesight as the tyres looked a little 'bulgey' and underinflated.....obviously not!!?? But thanks for the tip about PDI's it was worth checking them anyway

Oh , spoke too soon!

Went out to the car this morning, pressed start button without the clutch just to get the Sat Nav live to set it. All the dash lights came on, but no Sat Nav or radio. Turned the ignition off, pressed the clutch and tried to start the engine - nothing except HDC NOT AVAILABLE (not even our old favourite REDUCED TRACTION). Did a few key-out, back in, try again, but just got the same again for the next few attempts and then finally nothing at all except some clicking relays. So, back to the house to call LR Assist, except the key fob refused to come out of the hole! Ended up having to remove my house keys from it, and leave it unlocked, window open with keys in the ignition whilst I went to call LR Assist

Once the LRA guy turned up, he soon diagnosed it as a good-old flat battery, and a jump and quick charge got things up and running without much of a problem. My only concern now is how did it get like that? The battery itself is fine, as is the alternator, so hopefully I can put it down to the fact that the car's probably been sat around in a showroom or on an old airfield somewhere, and over that time the battery's run down. It will have been charged a bit at the dealer (I assume), but as the only long runs it's had since I picked it up on Saturday have been with headlights and wipers on, it maybe hasn't had chance to get a decent charge.

We shall see.....

I've heard about a similar problem at my local dealer, for a car they had on display. They changed the battery and all was fine. So don't you worry nightfox...

Carl you are having a brake from driving! I see you on line. Here's my chance to ask: has LR done sth about the B-pillars wearing out by the seatbelts on newer models? Have you noticed any upgrades regarding creaks? And finally how's the Auto diesel compared to your previous manual?

To soon to tell about the B-pillar, as I suffered this with the old car but as I was getting rid of it never bothered about getting it fixed, from what I can see nothing different to the old model unless the plastic is of a higher grade toughness, like I say need more time and use to see. What I did do on the old car was to pull the belt in and out quickly purposely so it ruvbbed on the guide and WORRYINGLY you could see the white plastic wear away in front of your eyes It is from much too soft a compound.

Creeks none as yet but the old car never suffered with creaks...in saying that I just remembered the old suspension'twang' from the rear...not had this on the new car as yet nor any other creeks or bangs.

Parking sensors are much, MUCH LOUDER than the old car, and as for the auto........WOW dream come true After a worrying 23.6mpg average am now upto 34mpg which I put down to early town driving being the bulk of the mileage and me being too heavy on the gas while playing in my new toy

Currently just rolled over 500 miles so officially run in and pleased to report........NO PROBLEMS

Hi Viking, I think you looked at my 'date joined' by mistake, I only picked up the replacment car on 1st Sept, so only 25 days old. Just turned 1400 miles now and still no problems, just need to get through to the off road day and clear that without damage and that will be a month

If the image's aren't alredy on the internet, the easiest way is probably to create your own gallery (click on the Gallery text under the Freel2.com title). Though if you want, I could upload them to my gallery for you if you wanted to e-mail them to me.
