Check list when picking up a new FL2 from the dealer?

Anyone got any tips about what to check for when collecting a new HSE auto from the showroom apart from the obvious like enough wheels etc? Idea

very good advice and well worth reading and taking in the salient points.

on the day you pick up the car you will find there will not be enough time allocated for you to do all this before accepting delivery, but at least you have an idea what to look for.

good luck

Iain

Be suspicious if they have left it outside in the wet, as this will cover any scratches and discourage you looking too hard for any faults! Else common sense Thumbs Up Freelander 2.2e HSE , Privacy, Fully debadged, 19" Chrome SHadow alloys

Some people thaught I was strange when I said to the dealer that they wern'tallowed to prep valet my FL2 prior to collection but by me polishing it I was able to study it very carefully! (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

Also remember that the dealership is required to supply the car in accordance with S.14 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979. This speaks of satisfactory quality and fitness for purpose. If you notice a problem after signing and taking the car home, the dealer cannot turn around and say "you checked and signed, nothing we can do" etc. This would be seen as an attempt restrict or exclude the provisions of the aforementioned Act and section. This in itself is contrary to S.6 of the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977. Which states that a company cannot by making reference to any contract term (e.g smallprint), exclude or restrict the provisions of the Sale of Goods Act.
