New car tomorrow

Collecting my new car tomorrow morning. Very Happy

Does anyone have any suggestions of what i need to look out for when checking the car over before driving away. Hopefully dealer will have sorted everything as it should be but never trust them all the time.

I just gave mine a once over on the inside and outside to make sure that there were no dents or scratches. Luckily I noticed a ding on the tailgate handle which the dealer promptly replaced.

Also checked all the electrics (windows etc) to make sure it all worked before I drove off the forecourt.

Can't think of anything else but I'm sure others will add their comments. ______________________

he probably won't have the log book - I think it gets produced by DVLA when the dealer sends them a form.

make sure you have notified your insurance company,

Don't do what a friend did and drive off the forecourt and half way home before he suddenly thought he hadn't told his insurance company that he had changed his car. Big mistake when your driving £40k of car.

Bit late now but check for dings and dents above bumper level, these cars are often shoe-horned into workshops at closing and workbenches and vices can leave a nasty dent!!! Full fuel tank, other scratches, head lining marks, all options are fitted and working, don't assume tyre pressures are checked on PDI mine were over inflated, the Traction seting dial infront of the gear lever on my first FL2 had the little rubber grips hanging out of one of them, locking wheel nut in glove box - suggest you relocate it in the little stowing position under the spare wheel after checking it matches your wheel nuts!!!

Also many people missed this, there is a free no cost smokers option for an ashtray and cigarette lighter. I did not want the lighter just the little ashtray which is circular and fits in the front drinks holder in the transmission tunnel. Handy for loose change...if your dealer is any good he will retro order this for you at no cost. Picked up mine today looks nice, so will photograph it tomorrow and post a picky for you. Get them anyway they are free!!!!! Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Very Happy Well picked up car today and everything was rosy. Full tank of fuel, rubber mats, all accessories fitted as requested and sunny day to drive home. Drove 2 miles from garage and hit a traffic jam, sat nav suggested alternative route home to avoid traffic and still Very Happy .

See what you all mean now when you say you find any excuse to go for a drive. car puts a smile on your face evrytime you get in and drive. Didn't buy a paper this morning and went out at 7:30 to get one, usually couldn't be bothered going back out at thsi time but no problem tonight.

Only downside is the average 25 mpg after first 60 miles but overuse of sport mode might explain.

Laughing Laughing Laughing same problem I had Laughing Laughing fun though isn't it Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Question After a while you should see that get upto around 30-30+mpg assuming a good mix of town and A road driving, otherwise sub 30 mpg for just town driving. Soon you will stop flooring it even round town and just accept the gentle auto box drive pick up from stationary to 'waft' you forwards at a meager speed, aloof of the Mondeo man, and the Beema arsehole in the queue next to you....let him look an arse to spee upto the next queue you join, so what if if you arrive 30 seconds later, he is one car in front, but you are in a higher riding and a higher class of car...you do need to impress....you have status, presence....almost Royalty, nothing to proove!! Thumbs Up

Really happy with the car but a couple of questions if anyone can answer.

Occasionally getting a message saying that phone has lost its connectivity do you want to search for devices. This is annoying when you dont notice it and your phone rings but isn't connected to the car. Does anyone know if you can get a wired connection for the phone to the car that avoids using bluetooth but still gives you all the functions of the pti. Land Rover website says you can but when i asked the dealer they said it was not available.

Other question is the Land Rover boot mat worth buying or best to just buy one from Halfords.
