Should I have a warning triangle in my car??

I looked in the manual and it says it should be in the space next to the spare tyre on the left hand side with a strap around it to hold it in place. Strap present, but no warning triangle!

I'm going to France tomorrow which is why I was looking, I've taken one out of the wifes car but just thought I'd check if I should have one. If I should, I've got no idea who has taken it out, it's either when it was serviced or when I had the tow bar fitted.

They are not (as far as I can recall) supplied as standard on UK spec vehicles.
The manual covers vehicles supplied to more than one market hence the mention of where the warning triangle is stowed for those markets where it is supplied.

I did wonder that, but wasn't sure.

Also worth noting if anyone ever drives to Spain - you need 2.
Currently ESP is the only EU state that requires two to be carried by law.

I kept the triangle from my previous A3, fits nicely in the fl2
I also posted all the tools except wheel brace and jack etc to an Audi forum member in need , so if you bought the car and needed them sorry  At work

In most EU countries a warning triangle is a must!
Only those red reflecting triangles with white background and vertical black line are allowed by law.

The older ones without the black line aren't allowed anymore.

If you drive trough Belgium you also need a fire extinguisher.

I think to drive on the continent an FL2 is the smallest vehicle you can get away with driving to carry all the daft stuff that some countries require.

I got pulled in my Leon on the way home from Le Mans for speeding a bit (lot).

Thanks for all the replies, just got back from a fantastic week in France.

I borrowed the triangle from the wifes A3, reflective vests from work but forgot about the spare bulbs. However, we stopped in Portsmoth the night before and there is a big Tesco in Port Solant who happended to have a good car care section with spare buld kits on offer, includeding one that would fit the FL2!

Anyway managed over 35mpg with 5 in the car fully loaded with roofbox and not to much complaining!
