Wash your car in the rain. If it doesn't dry up, it won't leave marks.

Maybe thats why black cars are so popular in Norway - Its the soft tap water we have here, and the blacks can wash as much as they like without leaving tidal marks on the paintwork ![]() Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc. |

Thanks for all the replies, I will try some of them(but not the £50 filter). I think I may have part of the solution.

Another thing you might try is blowdrying your car with for instance a leafblower. When I go throught my local carwash, they blow it dry too and it always looks as new. In fact my dealer always says it's the best maintained fl2 he has as a client.

when i am machine polishing the cars, i use my leaf blower to blow waterout of the areas that seam to harbour water which runs down the bodywork 10 mins after drying it and leaves water marks |

I live in a hard water area so i know what you mean by water marks. Try adding a capful of Mer polish to your favourite shampoo. It really works and you don't have to dash around the car to dry it off quickly. I often stop for a cup of tea halfway through drying. You'll find that you'll get a superb finish on black paintwork.
