2007 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Stornoway Grey
Green laning in the Lake District

Hi

We're off the the Lake District next week for a weeks holiday (22nd Sept). We would love to take our Freelander offroad, if possible, just to make the holiday that bit better.

I have been looking on the relevant websites, and found details of which BOATs and UCRs are open, but what I was after was a bit of local knowledge.

Can any help me with an easy lane or route, that I can happily take a Freelander 2 down, without too much difficulty, as I will be a single car (on facotry fitted tyres), and really don't want a lane that is either over grown or I'm likely to get stuck.

Thank you for your help

Rich

Although its not off road Wrynose & Hardknott Passes in the lakes are a nice drive.

You could always go off road when letting people go past on the single track roads..... worth a thought

I agree npinks!!! Beautiful scenery up on the Hardknott Pass, and don't forget to stop off at the fort...not much to see as mostly eroded and fallen down but most people miss it, you only see it from one direction Thumbs Up

It is nice up there, and everywhere in the lakes,

Spent alot of my teens in the Windermere area, as my dad had a boat on the lake, so we did a lot of exploring
