Can this be dealer activated on our 08 HSE as in for service tommorow?

A hse should have them anyway, they might have been set to be in the same position when you select reverse, as if the move to the exact same position

try selecting reverse and moving the mirrors prefered position, then they 'should' return when selecting Drive or any other option

If it works do your memory seat function to store

if not there faulty and dealer will sort Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Dealer will activate / deactivate (but might charge). IMO I find them 100% annoying and are deactivated. If I need to change them then I do so for the situation then press my memory seat posn when finished to put them where I want.  Freelander 2.2e HSE , Privacy, Fully debadged, 19" Chrome SHadow alloys
