Had a problem with the alarm going off today for no apparant reason. Unlocking with the keyfob stopped the alarm but then the same thing happened again when it was reset.

Having looked through the threads, I think it could be the battery backup sounder (BBS). I've undone the black wire which goes into the gold box on the bulkhead by the battery and locked up again.

Is the gold box the actual alarm, or is this the BBS? Was this a non-urgent recall? I ask as I'm just out of warranty - do you think I'll get a free fix?

Had to have mine replaced 6 weeks ago for same fault,unit is same as mondeo/smax etc and they get the fault too,just a change of unit,takes less than 30 mins when they have the parts in !!!!!
