Getting a Landrover Freelander 2 GS TD4

Hello all!
Well, forums such as this are really handy when you don't know much about what you are considering. Thanks, everyone, for all your input and views.
We have finally succumbed to a Stornaway Grey, trading in our 9 year old Honda car for something we feel will be something special and, possibly, the best car we'll ever own.
Have started a blog about our experiences, starting with the buying process - even though we have not got the car yet:
http://plutopants.wordpress.com/
will post pics when we finally get it, which may be later next week when the plate has been transfered.
Meanwhile, can't wait!
...and the 'Der will be getting a name - something all our vehicles over the years have sadly suffered. So, following Junior, Cherry, Snowy, Garth, Des (our trade in) Van & Huck (both of whom are still with us), wonder what we'll call the new arrival? Wink FL2 GS Auto, Stornaway Grey called Broooce. Side Steps, flaps, Bluetoth and DAB radio.

Great blog Pluto, really interesting to see your experience has been similar to mine, there are some great dealers and some not so. Sport LE Lago Grey

We could have a name that car competition. That said, I've never named a car, nor sexualised it by making it male or female.

Personally, I'd go for Archie!

Good choice Pluto Thumbs Up

We use Guy Salmon Knutsford for servicing and they have been excellent so far. They also did some recall work on our GS and again were very efficient. Good to hear that the Sales Dept. are also up to scratch!

He's not arrived yet, but I think we've named him

Archie was a great idea - fits a Landie. But wasn't he just killed off in Eastenders?
We have gone for Broooce (not a spelling mistake BTW) - yep, a hommage to 'the Boss', hoping, of course, that he was born to run. FL2 GS Auto, Stornaway Grey called Broooce. Side Steps, flaps, Bluetoth and DAB radio.

Close ours is Bruce! Following on from our previous FL1 which was named as such by the previous owner

Richard, why not post some photos of the car and all the people involved? It would givce it a bit more meaning to us that don't know the individuals or dealership.

Wow, what an afternoon. Exhausted but extremely content.

In the end, we have an extremely impressive vehicle - this GS, "Broooce", comes with Bluetooth - paired with the iPhone within seconds - cruise control, command shift, DAB radio, Aus in, MP3, climate and even the mirrors folding in are impressive when you lock it. I have never driven such a wonderful car that made me feel so good - and neither has the missus. A quaity product - knocks spots off even the Honda CRV (its closest rival in our search) - and by a long mile.

Ultimately, we will be fighting over the keys - one of our criteria. Land River have really done their homework and deserve credit. It's nice to sing the praises of a British-built product.

Will post pics shortly. FL2 GS Auto, Stornaway Grey called Broooce. Side Steps, flaps, Bluetoth and DAB radio.
