Try the ones mentioned. You have got to give them a price to beat and be honest, BS tends to get detected a mile off, just as we can smell it when the dealers start.

In the interests of clarity, the last comment was a generalisation, not a comment specific to any dealership! Rolling Eyes

Yes, but I just can't work out how I can justify a commercial LOSS on a transaction to my directors and shareholders! The car in question has now gone, therefore there is the small matter of not actually having something to sell you.

James, you could have left what to tell the Directors to me. I am sure I could have done a power point presentation with flip charts. They would have been impressed.

The lack of a suitable car might have been a slight problem, but not unsolvable. Give me one of your LE Sports at a GS price, you do have two. Remember the glass is half full.....

Scotland 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Zermatt Silver

Hi to all,

I have just ordered a new XS with a dealer in Scotland (not local). My local dealer Stratstones of Perth had the opportunity to sell a new car when I visited them but the offer they made was a joke!!The bottom line I consider when buying a car is how much cash ~~~~~(inc trade in) I have to part with. The deal Stratstones suggested was a cool £1900 more from me than the deal I struck elsewhere. I would prefer to use a local dealer but not at this price. Has anyone had a good deal from Stratstones of Perth?

I am not at liberty to identify the dealer. What I will say is that anyone considering a new F2 should not overlook 'Broadspeed' Autobytel on the other hand did not even reply to my online enquiry.

Fair enough MacWallace, surprised you even posted the price then. The point of the post was to inform people on this site where to start looking on the basis no one signed the official secrets act when doing the deal, but thank you for your valuable contribution.

Firstly, I did not post a price, I did however inform the forum of the deal to be had other than from Stratsones of Perth. Equally, your interpretation of the 'post' is not mine!!Nonetheless, I am sure others absorbing the information will identify the starting point referred to in my comments.Obviously you have not entered any arrangement with a car brokers who in this case requested me not to disclose the source as this would detract from their enterprise!

Looks like Broadspeed source from EU dealers unlike one of the others who ensure they use UK dealers. But this is just from reading websites - no personal experience but I would be interested to hear from people that have.

Yeah, sussed that, just playing devils advocate. Broadspeed is only a grand cheaper than RRP or Stratstones regular price, the discounts we were discussing with other dealers mentioned in this thread were 3k. No brainer!

Hi

My first post here, I'm currently looking for a deal on a new HSE Manual. With the options I've chosen (Adaptive Bi-Xenons Privacy glass, Met Paint and of course the Spare Wheel!!) the MRRP is £35K+

My local dealer has initially offered a £3K discount, still to be discussed (haggled) and I've also invited one of the site sponsors to contact me regarding this too

Best quote so far £29258 a discount of £6022 (17%ish) from Drive the Deal. I'm happy to wait for a build as I have a Honda CR-V to sell in the meantime.

My local Honda dealer could not match the price and current PCP deal I have with an online broker for the CR-V but the car was eventually provided, prepared and subsequently serviced by them with no problems.

Cheers

Steve

Let us know how you get on, especially Drive The Deal. If you have read the thread, you can see whats what on the price front.

OK will do. I understand that DtD discount the options as well as the basic price. It looks like a good deal to me at the moment.
