Welcome, got any snow to try the 4 wheel drive in. Whistle Don't put petrol in a diesel. They don't run well.

@npinks, thanks!
@boxer, unfortunately, Ski Dubai doesn't allow 4x4s to enter the premises Sad On the other hand, we've got miles and miles of desert here Smile just waiting for the right chance to try out my 'sand rover'.

Hi,

Lucky you. I like the UAE. Was at the Jebel Ali for a break. Nice place and very pleasent polite people, but sort of hot! Hope to be back this year.

@carnoch, thanks! Try coming here in Dubai from November till January during winter season where temp drops to 12-17C.

By the way, I took my LR2 to the famous Jebel Hafeet Road today and I was very satisfied. When you come over here for a break, try going for a drive on this road. It's exhilarating!!! CommandShift came in very handy during the the uphill and downhill hairpin turns.

(The Jebel Hafeet Mountain Road extends for 7.3 mi (11.7 km) up the mountain, rising 4000 ft (1219 m). With 21 corners and three lanes (two climbing and one descending), the immaculate road was called the greatest driving road in the world by Edmunds.com and was built by Strabag International Cologne,Germany - Wikipedia).

OK - just send sand - we've had plenty of TR twiddling in the snow but I've yet to use my sand setting for any reason (not auto so no trick "launch control" starts! Smile Gone... 2013 XS TD4 Manual Firenze Red

@ Chris B. You can still use sand for better acceleration in manual. Also makes the Freely feel tighter as it's putting more power to the rear.
@ Sandman- I'm over there soon, so must try to check it out. Indus Silver

Here now in Dubai. Seen a few nice SUV's and a smattering of Freely's. Have tried hiring one, but no luck so far Big Cry Busy working, and mad driving habits. Great place though. Indus Silver

Been uo the Jebel Hafeet today. Sadly in an RRS Supercharged, unable to hire a LR2.
Great road. Drove from Dubai to the YAs Island, over to Al AIn, Jebel Hafeet then back to Dubai. 730km's.
Loving this place but bck to blighty and my Freel on Friday.
