We have just purchased an 07 Freelander HSE and are wondering how best to connect an iPhone for both phone and music?

Been a HSE, you'll connect the phone via bluetooth for calls, but it does not support A2DP (music over bluetooth)

then you will have to connect the iphone via its audio lead to the AUX input, My HSE has a Kensington Audio Lead and a Brodit bracket to hold and charge the iPhone

Prior to this i used this, which i have for sale whcih holds and charges the iphone

I had tryed to connect an external audio device to the AUX input in my SE Freelander. There was heard herewith a some background sound. I had asked other owners of Freelander in our country. They told the same.
Do you have this problem?

Lar I have just done a test on my car for you. We have an apple ipod and connected it to the car using aux jack lead (This lead has the same male connector at each end) Connect one end to the headphone output of the mp3 player/ipod and the other end to the 'aux in' socket of your car at the rear of the central console next to the 12v power socket. Press the cd/Aux button on the right of the radio/cd to select 'Aux In'...press play on the mp3/ipod and this works fine..... you might have to first turn up the volume on the mp3/ipod and then use the car volume button thereafter.

I think we'll go for one of these...

You'll always get better sound from the main output rather than the headphone jack.

Good choice , thats what my new FL2 has in it, though the remote has stopped working, but i haven't checked its battery yet

The dealer got them to connect the cigar plug in out of site somewhere under the dash I think, and they have connected the AUX lead to my rear AUX in by unclipping the socket and having it behind the rear audio controls and I now have a fake socket (unconnected) instead of a rubber grommit.

The iphone connector came out in the glove box and i have a no holes brodit passthrough holder and mount to hold the phone in sight and keep it charging just next to the radio

Do you happen to have any photos? I'm trying to work out what's the best way to mount the iPhone.

Does there hear anything in loud-speakers if you switch your mp3-player in a mute mode?
