Center Bore: 65.1

when it comes to wheels I am not sure what is what Embarassed

is the bore the hole in the centre and I presume with the FL2 been smaller it won't fit?

2007 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Stornoway Grey

thought the FL2 shared its platform with some volvo, and shared wheels, as the test pics had these on the FL2.

May have been the S60 though (probably the volvo it shares front discs and pads with)

It's going to be the bore that is in doubt...

5 = 5 stud
108/4.25 is the pcd Pitch Circle Diameter (The dia of an imaginary circle touching all the ends of the studs)
14 = Metric 14mm thread diameter
1.5 = thread pitch of each stud
Offset = a measurement from the hub to wheel abutment face to the centre of the wheel/tyre.

The weight of the vehicle is not taken on the wheel bolts, it's on the wheel bore. So this MUST be the same to allow wheel swaps.

So no go here I'm afraid.

The Fl2 is on a common Ford Group platform, but that's not to say they use exactly the same hubs as other family members Smile

I told him to buy winter tyres, or at the least normal road tyres that grip in the wet

his going to use his wifes Volvo C30 instead, at leasts it sporty tyres are not the low resistance tyres that don't grip on anything thats not dry tarmac

Theres a Yahoo cars review and it says even the 4x4 XC60 with low resistance tyres on are just pants Laughing

For those who are thinking why he didn't buy a FL2, its because I had one and he didn't want to copy Rolling Eyes , and it was my grey one so he wanted a car that was on the road more than in the garage Laughing Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

NICK:

My Land Rover and Volvo distributor says:
The bolts and wheel dimensions suit each other. There is a difference of 5mm between the outside of the tyre and the mounting face of the hub (55 - 50), but this should make no difference (like fitting 5mm wider/narrower) tyres).
However the recommendation was, try first to be absolutely sure (presumably that the tyre will clear the arch).

Hope this helps Question 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

Andy your a star Bow down

Did they say anything about the difference in bore sizes? with the FL2 been smaller I presumes this means they won't fit over the volvos centre hub

FL2 is 63.4 V's Volvo 65.1 a difference of 1.7mm so i'll put it to him and see what he feels, or how they fit Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Thanks again

I have told my brother your finding, and he'll think about it, but if the holes too small they won't fit on

Also, they are my spare pair of wheels because it was cheaper to buy a 2nd set than buy two new rear tyres, so they are legal, but only just

Definitely as Martin says. The vertical force relies on the bore of the wheel being snug to the hub locator diameter otherwise the nuts/studs are under potential excessive sheer forces, which they aren't designed for. When you mount the wheel to the hub, if there is any vertical play (without nuts in place) the wheel is not suitable.
