Totally agree, about time we did something about it, but which sounds better?

My nearest pub is a mile away which is fine, but if it was 1.61 kilometres away I wouldn't like it.

We should know both, and imperial is not dead. I use up-to-the-minute electronic components that have imperial package dimensions. They can sit on a PCB next to a component that is entirely metric. Imperial will out-live all of us, unlike the Empire

I work in metric on the farm and have done for decades, almost all farm products have to be bought in metric volumes, yet I still like mpg's, pints, 45 gallon drums, miles.

Inches,lb's and oz's annoy me. too much calculating required. fractions annoy when dealing with non metric spanners.

I've noticed that between 130kmph and 150kmph the car has it natural resonance and trembles a bit, with 140kmph (90mph) being the worst. All other speeds the car does not.

I don't think sprinting times from 0 are good for this car as it's first gear is very short (for offroad purposes as it has no low gears) so don't bother with that.

Once it's running it has good enough power to easily excellerate and leave most common cars behind.

Of course these are impressions of a manual box, no idea how it feels and reacts with the automatic gearbox.

The FL is very refined on the autobahn at 100mph; but what I do find is that the steering is way to light at these speeds, the slightest twitch and the car goes with it. think LR should recalibarate the system. IMO It is one of the few negative points of the car that the steering is far too light at any speed (less parking)  Freelander 2.2e HSE , Privacy, Fully debadged, 19" Chrome SHadow alloys

Wouldn't light steering not be beneficial when offroading? I find most strange things with the car make perfect sence once you put it offroad. Like for instance the short 1st gear on the manual...

The steering is very light as they have no sensotronic (name for audi). They should be light at low speeds but tighten on higher speeds normally.

However I used to find it a bit too tight on my old A4. If you were trying to push the car fon a curvy road, the steering was working against you all the time, hence tiring. 2010 Freelander 2 Select TD4 auto....gone
