Which means in layman's English - ya more likely to get a speeding fine with worn tyres rather than new ones ![]() Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc. |

My father received a speeding ticket driving through Dumfries & Galloway on the M74. Clearly printed on the paperwork were "Maximum permissible speed 77mph (70 +10% + 2mph)

a speed camera will have the rule set by the chief constable so in one area it might be as you say +10% + 2mph but outside a school it might be far less.

It it up to each Police force to decide what they set their speed camera activation at. You may well find that a camera in one village will be set at a different activation speed to a camera a few miles away in the next village or two different trunk roads in the same area could be set different. The cameras in my force area are placed at accident 'black spots' or the mobile camera vans can park up within 1km of an accident 'black spot'. But it is just a money making scheme! |
