Appears to be the same pads. I am not sure why we are able to go greater distances here in Canada???

Earlier this year, my wife and I were in the USA and my son had asked me to pick up a set of front pads and rotors for his F150 Truck. My son wanted to have the parts on hand for when he needed to install them. Generally parts are less expensive for us if we buy in the USA.

I went to Pep Boys or some thing similar???

The pads and rotors for most of the aftermarket stuff is made in China. Even in the USA, many of the parts are made in China.

We were in Alabama earlier this year and again I went into one of the parts stores and almost all of the tools etc are made in China. It is terrible the amount of stuff the world purchases from China.

Generally anything made there is substandard.

I was pleased to see that the pads I purchased from Landrover were made in the UK. Vic Benson

And aren't you afraid that the lettering FoMoCo will be changed erelong to TaMoCo?
My acquaintance serviceman of LR was telling me about a same such new rubber parts for D3

2007 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Stornoway Grey

Brake pad wear is purely down to driving style.

I can get around with using the brakes very little, using engine braking, and slowing in advance for traffic, or you can be very heavy on your brakes, late braking at every junction, causing heat build up and wear on the pads.

At my worst, an old Megane of mine used to get through pads and disks on the front every 8,000-10,000 miles (normally warped disks through heat)

My biggest issue changing the pads on the FL2, was jacking it up, got my trolley jack out for the first time, checked the manual for jacking points (which I couldn't find), but found suitable points at the start. Started jacking, which took some time till the jack even reached the car, the the jack moved about an inch more before it reached it's limit, the car hardly moved.

Had to get the standard jack, which is hard work on 4 wheels. Luckily the axle stands were long enough.

I am looking around here (Canada) for a source for EBC brakes and rotors. From what I understand the pads are manufactured in the USA and the UK.

EBC is a company that manufactures brake components. I would prefer Brembo, but too much rubles.

I've fitted EBCs (Ultima I think, which is the basic). Seem good so far.

There available from loads of places here in UK, but that doesn't help you much Whistle

Just had new front and rear pads @40k discs still in excellent condition,
I Paid £110 plus £6 postage for both sets original L/R parts from a Landrover main dealer via EBAY Fitted by my mobile mechanic it took him about 1 hr 45 and cost me £40

I just paid dealer cost to get my rear brake pads. I had it flown over to me. jacked er up, took the wheels off, replaced the rears. All good. it is odd that on the passenger side, the outer pad, was down to bare metal, while the inner pad still had 8mm on it. Apparently, something got stuck in between the pad and rotor and did a number on the pad. Rotor still A-OK. Even at cost, the pads are expensive. when I had the FL1 2004, I ran the R1 concepts X-drilled and slotted rotors, plus their economy brakes. They are definately good value. I see that they now have the X-drill and slotted rotors plus pads for the FL2. So I will be buying from them again. Armchair Commando
