Philips Blue Vision

Has anyone fitted/had experience of the Philips Blue vision bulbs. What's coverage improvement over standard like?

Also....are they the equivalent of the Philips Crystal Vision that seem to marketed abroad?

I haven't, but have been warned about putting aftermarket bulbs in, without checking them with an LR dealer first, as it can cause other bulbs to blow. That could just be my dealer making sure I buy bulbs from them though Whistle Gone - TD4 XS Auto, Sumatra Black, Mud flaps and side strips, clear indicators, private plate, privacy glass

Sorry can't comment on the Blue Vision but ...

I fitted Halfrauds Extreme Brilliance (claimed +80%) they worked well and did not cause any problems (sounds liek dealer scare tactics to me)

I'm sure NP and others have dabbled with different aftermarket bulbs, I'm sure others will be along to comment or you could try the search function

I have fitted them a few months back, they are much brighter with a crisper blueish light then the standard yellowish bulb, only sightly blue tint. I have no other bulbs blow because of fitting them
( there are still only a h7 55 watts bulb same as the standard bulb)

I've only used the sidelights, and they are whiter and brighter, gets rid of the yellow look of the standard ones. Can't compare with any others. No problems with any blown bulbs, in fact, being a cheap skate, these are the same sidelights I've had in previous 2 cars as I take them out each time as I sold them Very Happy Phil

May well give the Philips a try then. Like Jp says...can't personally see why they would cause other bulbs to blow when their same wattage H7's. Hoping, again, like Jp hinted that they only have a hint of blue (when they go too blue they look cheesey to me!). Sorry npinks, not this time. Keep plugging away mate, you'll get them sold eventually.

no problems mate Smile

Bought them for a forum member as part of a deal for some rubber mats, but he then has never bothered coming back to me with a price for postage to Leeds , so they are excess to my requirements Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Kezman - I'm using the Phillips Diamond vision 5000k, they are the closest you'll get to Xenon's. A clean white light - highly recommend, got a few pictures on my gallery Thumbs Up , about £40 for the pair. They came with replacement w5w bluevision sidelights which are better than standard for sure but still look 'yellow' compared to the main lights.

I have been thinking of upgrading to the Phillips bulbs for a while, is it a straight forward swap or do the lights need to come out?

Easy - Just a bulb out and exact replacement back in H7.
If you mean do you have to take the headlight out, yes you do. Bonnet up, undo 2 x 10mm bolts above each light then lift the plastic catch at the back and slide the headlight unit towards you -undo the large connecting plug. (Plastic front lense so lay it face down on a cloth)

Thanks, sound’s a straight forward job even I should be to do.

On a slightly different matter has anyone had experience of their lights misting up from the inside, tried to get it sorted under warranty a couple of weeks ago, but the garage came back and said that this normal and the lights have Gortex breather and will only change the lights if they have water slopping about in them. Just noticed it happening with the fog lights as well, can last quite few hours.
