It's a very good point...if you want proof that Ford were the best owners, look back to the P38 Range Rovers. The 4.6 V8 was plagued by porous block problems, but miraculously when Ford got involved after BMW they were faultless. And did you know...the Ford block in these V8 vehicles is actually a Cosworth block...Range Rover cosworth anyone? Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35
