Was with Ford for many years, the first to have HFS. What you describe happening sounds like a stress fracture, the screen having been fitted out of alignment with no clearance to A pillar. This would cause screen to crack with severe jolt and slight body flex when you came off kerb. Not uncommon. Ask fitter to check before he starts to cut out screen. If am correct take photos.
