Stupid, stupid, stupid error on my part. I kerbed the wheels, and the impact also cracked the windscreen - nearly 3 feet across from side to side!

Coz I elected for the cheapest insurance quote last year, it seems not to cover windscreen replacement. So I called Autoglass. £1200, discounted to £675!

They are coming out this afternoon to do the job.

Its the first time I've had a cracked screen in 34 years of driving, but thats what happens when you have a heated, tinted screen and then don't bother to get the right insurance.  Chris

I blame the missus! I was talking to her ( a rare occurrence! ) whilst parking alongside on the righthandside of a road. Front wheel went up the tall kerb. Alloy nicely chewed up. Tyre is fine. Chris

I guess I pay a premium to insure with NFU , (I rarely even get other quotes) but they pay out which is the most important , And I deal with the same people everytime in a little office in the local town.

I would be taking the car to LR first to see what they have to say about it as it doesn't sound right

Impact a wheel, and the resulted force travels through the shock absorbers, suspension coils on to the bodywork and give the A pillars enough shock/vibration/movement to cause a cracked window

Cancel Autoglass, and call LR

Also if they have offered a "SOLARFLARE" replacement, they don't fit properly causing the rear view mirror to fall off(It happen to me and another member), even though AG quote they are exactly the same just without the LR badge But then if it doesn't fit they will fit a OEM under the AG guarantee  Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Not sure of its too late, but there is a genuine heated screen on e-bay - item number eBay Item No. 160362089342 for £329..

My local dealer is the seller.
