Hello all,

this is my first post on the forum, although I have read possibly most of the topics in here

I ordered my Freelander 2 SE Limited Edition (delivery in February though!), and I have the option of including a sunroof/moonroof in the package.

The dealer adviced my against it, as we live in a very hot climate (Cyprus) and the perforated fabric allows a lot of heat and sun to enter the vehicle.

Is the dealer right or wrong? And if so, is there any way to reduce heat/sun coming through?

The sunroof/moonroof is heavily tinted over here,plus you get blinds  2010 HSE Galway Green auto GONE

Never found my sunroof cause excessive heat but blighty not renowned for sun

maybe the Australian or UAE member can shed light

remember you can press the open button and it opens all windows to vent the car, just it doesn't open the sunroof Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

@charliefoxtrot999 - by blinds you mean the perforated fabric as aforementioned right?

@npinks - The problem - from the dealer's point of view - is when stuck in traffic at 13:00 and the sun is overhead at 43 degrees celcius, even with the blinds closed

Iif other FL2 owners from hotter climates have any input on this, please let me know as I need to let me dealer know if I want the option or not soon.

I'm in Australia, it gets hot here and your dealer tells the truth. My sunroof lets heat in so much that you can feel it on your head/shoulders etc while driving.

My wife has a VW with a sunroof and we never use it. Its only for places where the sun is desirable. We are escaping it as much as possible here in Oz. Most have a rolling cover inside to stop the light...ours is permanently closed

your dealer is correct.................it's only the British who buy cars with sunroofs !!

countries with hot climates do not buy cars with sunroofs but do demand a/c as standard.
