Imgur Blocked for UK

It now seems that we in the UK can no longer access Imgur they have decide to block us due to the new rules.

Linked to the UK’s new Online Safety Act (OSA) and ongoing investigations by regulators. The OSA is meant to protect minors from harmful content by verifying users’ identities.

So all those including my thread and post which used Imgur to post up photos you can no longer see them rendering the how to useless.

Looks like trying to find another image hosting site to post up photo's

What are other using so this can not happen in the future. ?

HI Jules.
Does youtube have a photo hosting part to it i thought it was only videos, now that Imgur have taken the steps they thought better for them, it means anyone who as used it to upload photos of how they carried out a job, and posted it into their threads the photos are no longer available making the how to useless virtually

You can get round that if you download a VPN when mine is set to UK I can't see it but can if set to Spain. I use Express which is a paid network but you may have to experiment with free versions my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

This forum has built in image upload/hosting - you don't need a third party system.

Make all the photos the same pixel size (& make them all an appropriate smaller size to speed things up). Save them as high quality as possible, & to a separate folder. Name them all the same & add a sequential number after an 'underscore'.

Car_001, Car_002, Car_003,.....

In QuickTime (what I use, which is well over a decade old) or whatever compressor, import sequence of frames.

Give a very slow (typically for these things) frame rate, 2 seconds per frame or whatever.

& save. That's basically it.

Practice with say 3 frames, then add a few more as you get comfortable.

I haven't tried it in Handbrake, probably doesn't do it. But Handbrake is open source for Mac & PC. Brilliant video compressor with almost limitless options for compressing. Shrinking, cropping, bits per second, & audio compression options.

There is trade off quality vs compression, but often a small size, pixels & compression is good enough for most things. Just have to experiment until you are happy.

Practice with a 10 second video & note your times & level of compression artefacts & file sizes.

Videos where the camera doesn't fly around all over the place quickly, & scenes with larger areas of block colour, ie blue sky, will compress more compared to a busy scene for the same quality. You need to experiment.

Be careful you don't overwrite earlier files, change file name like adding _v001 (version 001) etc each time you save it. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I'm currently testing out a new photo hosting site, which at the moment seems to be nice and smooth, and is very quick to up load photos.

Recently did my autumn oil change.
