My Uncle's wife in the States used to work for Robert Redford. She said he was the nicest person to work for and extremely approachable. When my Mom and Dad went over to visit, my Uncle's wife said Robert was going to be visiting the offices and as she knew my mother was a fan, asked if she'd like her to get his autograph.
Robert went one better. Not only did he send an autographed photo signed personally to my mother with her name on, but he got my Uncle's wife to phone home and he spoke to my mother - only to say "hi" and that he hoped she would enjoy her time in the States - but it made my mother's holiday !
