Got it sorted. Faulty new EGR valve - SD4 uses different setup - cleaned old one and now working (for now). Had to redo learning with SDD and now much better. Slight hesitation that the 2010/2011 know for so may look at a remap while sorting a few other bits out.

Changed the EGR to the correct Pierburg model, new vacuum bypass valve and actuator for the SD4 from BH0000001 (2010/2011) onwards. Replaced MAF sensor on air filter with correct one - make sure to check as laster BH onwards have temp sensor in this, earlier ones dont - car runs but get stall/misfires in temp above 15'C between 1100 and 1600 rpm. Correct later one with temp sensor resolves this! So in effect have replaced the enire emissions system to get it running smoothly again - smooth even power delivery and reduced fuel consumption. 2011 SD4 HSE Auto Ipanema Sand - and behaving like a mad cow!
