Front Brake Lines

I’m needing to replace my front brake lines on both sides as the threaded nut was corroded on at the hose and I was replacing the hoses and suffered the ‘brake line twist’.

Off side is LR014379 and looks fine to fit. Beavis has a vid.

Near Side is LR002939 - but I noticed this comprises of 3 lines.

Questions:
Can I just use the one I need or do I need to replace all 3?
Can you buy the one I need separate? Part number?
Any tips on fitting?

Cheers! Andy

Back 2021 I replaced all 4 flexible brake hoses and found two pipes (Rear NS and front OS) seized at the union with the flexis and the pipe ends just twisted off.

I thought the JLR genuine pipes were good as the bends were in the right places and they had all the clips and bits of sponge etc.

Make sure you DO NOT let air get back up into the ABS unit. I used some silicone hose and cable ties to make overnight bungs whilst awaiting parts.

To get at the pipes in the scuttle area there is a fair amount to dismantle.

Cheers Jules… spotted that in a forum search. A fair bit of dismantling as you say.

Going to get the JLR parts. £28 for off side by £48 for nearside as it contains all 3 pipes… only need one, but don't think you can buy separate?

Would you recommend using these brake line spanners, or would a regular spanner do?

Ive compressed the open line ends and stuck a plastic cap on… i doubt its air tight… but hope air wont make it in and down…

Will be sure to give a good bleed 👍

Brake line spanners (rings with a slot in them) are nice if you have some as they reduce the chances of rounding off the flats with open ended spanners (especially adjustables).
However, I dont have any so I just used open ended ones that were a good fit. Jules

For the price a brake or flare nut spanner is well worth having in your tool kit. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

I went old school and made up a new piece of pipe, instead of renewing the full length
