United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Biscay Blue

RealBeale: Our Freelander 2 is spending the weekend off roading in a couple of weekends time. If the other side goes, I might be taking you up on that offer. Laughing

The issue we currently have is we have lots of things that need money spending on but we don't have the money for everything (like most people I can imagine Very Happy). So we are just prioritising the essentials. In a perfect world I'd replace the other 3 driveshafts on the car as preventative maintenance. But not having the tools to do it myself means we don't have the funds to cover the labour costs right now Very Happy. So we are hoping and praying that the car / other driveshaft will last the weekend we have coming up as it might just be road miles only for the Freelander 2 after the weekend until next year.

We ended up with a BGA drive shaft fitted to our car in the end. MuddyMods give us the choice of 3, Britpart being the cheapest, BGA and Landrover. Even though the BGA driveshaft was a chunk more expensive than the J & R, the quality and fitment just seems a whole lot better! We normally try and aim for quality replacement parts but we only had 4 days to get the car ready for a show. With the lack of research and not much time, that's why we ended up with a J & R. Smile

If anyone wants to see me breaking the broken driveshaft down and what actually went wrong with it, you can see it here Very Happy:

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 Dynamic Auto Santorini Black

personally i would purchase a complete set of four used driveshafts and leave it at that. the quality of originals is far better than some of the junk motor factors supply and also cost a lot less
