Outside Temp/Air Conditioning

Hi All

My 2013 Freelander 2 is showing the outside air temp as -40°C all the time. I have reset the fault codes and it just keeps coming back.

I have replaced the mirror assembly on my passenger side door (as the outside air temp sensor is built in to the assembly) and it did not change anything. After resetting the error codes again, the fault came back and still reads -40°C in the dashboard.

Is there anything else I can check that might be at fault?

Thanks in advance.

Jason

Try a battery reset for 40 mins,if that doesn't work then it needs a diagnostic tool to recalibrate and that involves driving the car while being done i believe.

A display of -40 means that the ECM can't get a reading from the external sensor, so could be a damaged wire between the mirror and the ECM. From memory the ECM reads the mirror temperature, and sends the data over the CAN for the Ipack to display. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
